Playing Catchup

The week without my son thankfully came and went quickly. It was a very rainy day when I went to pick them up so they were delayed in landing. I must have circled around the airport 10 times or so since you can’t stop in the pick up area. The tears flowed freely when I finally got to hold my little big man in my arms once more. He was so happy to see me and it looked like he grew a whole foot while he was gone!

After Hurricane Ike slammed the Gulf coast and a major pipe line to my area was pretty much shut down everyone went into quite the panic. Everyone was afraid of gas running out so they all at once bumrushed the gas stations. People waited in hour long lines, lines bleeding out onto the the roads causing god awful traffic snarls. I tried not to get caught up in the madness. I knew that if everyone panicked about running out of gas it would pretty much become a self-fufilling prophecy. In the end only one in five gas stations had gas. Thankfully I was pretty lucky in finding gas not having to wait in too long of lines. Even two weeks after this it was hard to find gas. Things are finally starting to get better, about four out of five gas stations have gas.

I finally got my results back, I had given them 10 business days to call me, in which they never did, and I finally bit the bullet and called them myself. Everything came back clean, thankfully, and she said she is just going to keep an eye on things when I go back for another pap in January. I figure that the abnormal pap smear was probably brought on by my IUD inflaming my vaginal walls (tmi I know). I hate doctors but I also bit the bullet and scheduled a doctors appointment for this cough that I have had for 3 weeks. Her diagnosis was that I had asthma brought on by allergies. Asthma?! I am still not quite sure about that diagnosis because I really don’t have any other telltale symptoms of asthma. Either way the inhaler she gave me seems to be doing to the job, it’s nice not waking up to a coughing fit in the middle of the night.

Tomorrow my son, mom and I are heading to the beach for a 4 day vacation. I am super excited about it but it looks like the weather is going to be a bit drab and dreary. I won’t let the weather rain on my parade though.
