I am still liking my job and the people in it. We are able to get our work in and still have some fun doing it. I like most all of the people that I have met, it’s a pretty close-nit group of people. I am getting the hang of things, it has been a lot of stuff to learn and I am still learning a lot of new things every day. I started keying about 50 docs per hour and have now gotten it up to 75dph and today I did 100dph (the minimum they want is 40dph). So I am feeling pretty confident in my work.
Of course as soon as I get a job everyone else comes knocking on my door for a job. I have had about 5 possible job calls. Some have been local. But I am getting paid too well, enjoy the people too much and love the flexibility with my hours (need to leave early for some reason? no problem, just as long as you make it up and get the 40 hours in). So I am going to stick with it.
Jake is doing the cutest thing now. Since he can’t really say what he wants or what he wants you to do he grabs you by whatever and pulls you to the place. Yesterday he took my hand and pulled me into his room then pulled me down to the floor. Then went and got daddy and did the same thing so we played awhile in his room. I can’t believe that in under 3 months my little man will be terrible twos. I already miss him being so little and he’s still got so much growing to do.
So that has been whats going on in a nutshell.

Finally getting around to Myra’s tag. Now I just have to figure out who I am going to tag.
10 Things You Might Not Know About Me
- Never been stung by a bee. Which is probably why you will see me calm when a bee is flying around while the rest of the people around me are freaking out.
- My mother and I lived with my aunt and uncle (r.i.p.) and my aunt was like a second mother to me.
- I was absolutely terrified of roller coasters for years and years until about 6 years ago. I finally swallowed my fears and rode one. Now I love roller coasters although there are still some I won’t ride.
- I just can’t go #2 in public bathrooms. Even if I have to go really bad.
- Ashamed to admit this but I use to shower about only twice a week. I now have to shower every day or I feel absolutely disgusting.
- I almost failed kindergarten because they said I wasn’t social enough.
- I can out burp most guys, no really I can.
- I have been to over 75 or so concerts.
- On both my feet my index and middle toe are slightly webbed. You would have to look really hard to notice.
- Jake was an accident, the best accident I have ever made (I call him my little surprise, it sounds better that way).

A long week indeed but it’s all been good. Wednesday I started to learn my job. It’s a lot to learn and is quite overwhelming but I feel pretty confident that I will get the hang of it quite quickly. Mornings are spent inputing bills and the rest of the day is gathering information to complete bills that can’t be sent because information is missing. Most of the information I need to make calls to get. I am not a phone person at all but I am doing pretty good with it. I get a long well with everyone and they are very nice. The place is pretty laid back and it is nice not having to work with a bunch of stiffs. The billing department is divided into teams who do billing for different places in the south east and I got stuck with the best group.
It’s been very hard getting up at 6a in the morning to leave at 6:30 to get to the office at 7:30 then leaving at 4 to pick up Jake at 5 then get home around 5:30 to fix dinner, get Jake bathed and other miscellaneous things then get to bed at least by 9:30. As if I wasn’t tired enough at the end of the week my mom and I went to a concert in the city. I really enjoyed seeing both Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. I mainly went to see Keith Urban but ended up leaving early while he was playing because Carrie sang for so long. It’s okay though because I at least got to hear my favorite song of his. I am not a big country fan but I like Keith because he isn’t pure country. A lot of his songs have a rock element to them that I really like.
I didn’t get home and in bed till around 11:40 then the next morning we had to wake up at 6:30 to get ready to go on a weekend trip with his parents to Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Beach, they wanted to take me there because I have never been. We drove over the long bridge at the Chesapeake Bay which included two tunnels that took us down underneath the water. That was pretty fund and interesting. We then headed to Virginia Beach where we got a hotel right on the ocean front. We rented a 4 seat bike thing and petaled around the boardwalk that stretches beside the ocean, a very nice feature of the beach. We had a big and delicious supper at the little restaurant at the hotel. I didn’t get to sleep much because we had some noisy people next door and had to sleep on hard beds.
I am now at home trying to get in as much rest as I can before I start a busy week all over again (but hopefully not as busy or I might collapse in exhaustion).

Well, I “started” my job this Monday. The reason I put started in quotation marks is because I have yet to do my field of work. Monday was orientation day. Had some safety training, watched a video on privacy, went over benefits, got a very general introduction of the people that work there and the different departments in the office. Today I got a more thorough look of the different departments. The majority of the morning was spent riding around with the service rep who picks up medical specimens. Tomorrow is when I start the actual training. I will be working in the billing department and dealing with the accounts receivables. In the morning I will be doing data entry and the rest of the day will be finding missing information so they can mail the bills off. I will be working 7:30am till 4:00pm.
The people are really nice and the team I am on, we all get along really well. I think I will like working here. Most people I talked to there have been with the company for years which is always a good sign. I however miss my son like crazy. It’s quite hard to leave him in the morning but I take comfort in knowing that he is having a blast with his grandfather. This is helping me not take our time for granted.
